It’s School Board Appreciation Week, and we’re so grateful for our amazing Cherokee County School Board!  A high-performing school district begins with a high-performing school board … and our board is incredibly dedicated to elevating the excellence in its governance.  Each day this week, we will share one School Board member’s thoughts on three questions.

What do you love most about serving on our School Board?
I love the opportunity to give back to this community that I have lived in the past 33 years.  I love hearing about how our teachers partner with students and parents to make each student successful.   

What about our school district makes you the proudest?
It makes me proud to see so many former students who return to Cherokee County to teach in our schools and to raise their children here.

What about our school district’s future is most exciting to you?
I’m excited about working alongside six other outstanding board members.  Although our length of service may vary, every board member brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in various areas.  I believe that every one of our board members is dedicated to making sure that EVERY child in our district will receive the best possible education to prepare them for their next steps in life.
